Lana Beasley, LMHC, NCC has over 27 years of professional psychotherapy experience in Central FL and is a FL Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a National Board Certified Counselor. National Board Certification is the gold standard for counseling.
Lana provides individual and couples/marital counseling in office and online therapy. Virtual therapy takes place on a state-of-the-art banking grade encrypted, easy to use HIPAA and HITECH compliant confidential, telemedicine platform with HD visual and audio in real time. Busy people often prefer online therapy because it is convenient, there is no commute time, sessions are in clients comfortable homes, there are fewer cancellations and clients can remain anonymous. According to The National Center for Health Research online therapy can be as effective as traditional in-person therapy for many issues when therapists use the same techniques as in-person, particularly Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. CBT helps clients change the way they think about problems and experiences which changes negative emotions and behavior. Online therapy isn't recommended for people who are suicidal.
Insurances/Finances
Unlike some big box companies that have recently sprung up, Lana is an in-network provider for Aetna, HealthFirst ,Optum, United Healthcare, UMR and regular Medicare. If you have insurance with one of these companies, your benefits are verified and you are informed of them prior to your first session and claims are submitted on your behalf. If you have out of network benefits, you would need to self-pay and then you would submit an invoice to your insurance company. Clients are responsible for any costs insurance does not pay. VIsa, MasterCard, Heath Savings Account cards and debit cards are accepted at time of service. Lana is not a provider for any type of Blue Cross Blue Shield, Medicaid or HMO Medicare.
Self-pay sessions are: $120 per 60-minute Individual session and $150 per 60 minute couples session. Weekly or bi-weekly sessions are scheduled to help with issues you are struggling with and Lana provides you with tools to help you address and manage emotions, change unhealthy thoughts and behaviors, communicate effectively and improve your relationship with yourself and others.
Treatment and what to expect
Treatment begins with an intake, in which your consent for treatment is obtained, relevant background information is gathered, expectations and limitations of treatment are discussed, and together, treatment goals are established. Therapy is most effective when scheduled on a consistent weekly or bi-weekly basis. Lana schedules her clients for consistent weekly or bi-weekly standing appointments to ensure current clients scheduling needs are met. Trust, respect, honesty and openness are critical to establishing the therapeutic relationship and to making progress. A commitment to therapy, a willingness to actively participate during sessions and consistently implement strategies between sessions results in the fastest movement towards health and happiness.
Length of treatment and progress involve many factors. Some clients make significant progress and reach their treatment goals in as little as 6 weeks, while others require greater than 6 months of therapy for more complex, long standing issues.
Clients with addiction issues are advised to seek therapy with Certified Addictions Professionals (CAP after their names). Licensed Professional Counselors do not prescribe medications. Seek the services of a psychiatrist. No classes or groups are currently offered.
